Kentucky takes on Kansas State tonight @ 9:37pm, EST as they attempt to extend their season past this weekend. This post-season has favored the Wildcats, starting with the SEC Tournament when Alabama upset Auburn and Arkansas beat Tennessee to make UK’s path to victory easier. The basketball gods continue to smile down on us as upsets besiege the South Region, leaving Kentucky as the highest remaining seed (#5) when the dust of the opening weekend settled. It now feels like if the Final Four doesn’t include Kentucky, something went terribly wrong. The South Region is lousy with Cinderellas as #9 Kansas State and the winner of #7 Nevada versus #11 Loyola-Chicago are all that stands in the way of John Calipari adding another Final Four appearance to his already sparkling UK resume.
