UK Basketball: 5 more thoughts and postgame notes from SEC Championship win over Tennessee

Kentucky faced off with Tennessee Sunday looking to win the 4th consecutive and 31st overall SEC Tournament crown and avoid losing to the Vols three times in one year since 1979.

The Cats were without Jarred Vanderbilt, but they once again had guys able to step up and win the SEC Tournament by a final score of 77-72.

Out of the gate, Kentucky was shooting the ball extremely well and getting any shot they wanted. At the same time, they were playing good defense and making it tough for Tennessee to get open looks, and with under 12 minutes left, they had an 18-10 lead.
