LEXINGTON - The University of Kentucky athletics department is moving ahead with plans for fans to be in attendance at its 2020-21 games.
While Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart acknowledged Thursday the department is planning for contingencies if the coronavirus pandemic prevents fans from attending games, the department's 2020-21 budget released includes only a projected $5.7 million decrease in ticket revenue from last year.
"The budget represents a reality as we know it in this moment," Barnhart told the UK Board of Trustees' athletics committee at its meeting conducted via Zoom. "We are preparing for games to be played as scheduled with our fans.
