LEXINGTON — In the wake of the NCAA's decision to cancel its spring and summer championships in response to the COVID-19 epidemic, University of Kentucky president Eli Capilouto and athletics director Mitch Barnhart delivered the following message to the school's athletes.
The message was shared with media in a news release.
"Late this afternoon, the NCAA announced the cancellation of all winter and spring championships. This difficult decision was made in response to an unprecedented health crisis of the accelerating spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
