TyTy Washington’s performance vs. Ohio did not go unnoticed. Washington won SEC Freshman of the Week for his play in Kentucky’s wins over Mount St. Mary’s and Ohio. It’s the first such honor of his career and the first weekly SEC award for a Wildcat this season. LSU’s Darius Days took home SEC Player of the Week.
Washington averaged a team-high 18.0 points in the two victories, along with 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists. He was particularly impressive vs. Ohio, finishing with 20 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, his first career double-double.
