Tyrese Maxey suffered an ankle injury during Team USA’s matchup with Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
Maxey was off to another fast start before turning his ankle and leaving the game in the third quarter. He never even returned to the USA bench, as he was likely receiving treatment from the medical team in the locker room.
Depending on how bad the injury is, Maxey could be out for a few days or a few weeks, which could threaten his availability for the rest of the tournament.
The Americans would go on to win and finish 3-0 in pool play.
