Saturday’s Kentucky 78-70 win over Louisville had special meaning for Wildcats freshman Tyrese Maxey.
Not only was Maxey named game MVP by scoring a carer high 27 points on 9/14 shooting and grabbing seven rebounds, but he put together the remarkable performance in front of his father.
Maxey’s father has been recovering from an undisclosed illness, and Saturday was his first trip to Rupp Arena to watch his son play for the Wildcats.
“I am very excited. It was my dad’s first game (this season) and it was an amazing feeling to see them over there (in the stands),” Maxey said after the game.
