Congratulations to Tyrese Maxey, who was just named one of ten midseason finalists for the Jerry West Award, given annually to the best shooting guard in college basketball.
Maxey is currently averaging 13.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 42.5% from the floor. He had a career-high 27 points along with 7 rebounds in Kentucky’s win over No. 3 Louisville back on Dec. 28, earning NCAA March Madness National Player of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week honors. Maxey has scored in double figures in 14 games this season and is averaging 19.
