Kentucky’s first commit from the 2019 recruiting class was five-star guard Tyrese Maxey.
Like the incoming point guards before him, Maxey is taking his role as a leader seriously even before arriving on campus. To help make his experience as a Wildcat more successful, he is working hard to get other top recruits to join him in Lexington.
Maxey’s first target was James Wiseman, who for a long time was considered a strong Kentucky lean and was considered the top player in the class. But after Wiseman decided to stay home and play for the Memphis Tigers, Maxey has moved his focus onto other forwards in the class.
