LEXINGTON - The anxiety in Rupp Arena was palpable.
John Calipari's Kentucky basketball team had opened its game versus Lamar on a 10-0 run, eventually stretching the lead to 11 at 15-4 before the Wildcats fell back into a worrying early-season trend of poor performance versus mid-major opponents. Lamar scored 15 of the next 19 points to tie the game at 19 with 8:52 remaining in the first half.
But unlike the shocking loss to Evansville or the second-half collapse in a closer-than-expected win over Utah Valley, Kentucky was able to quickly right the ship this time.
