With news today that he has been selected to the AP All-American First Team, Tyler Ulis earned consensus All-American status, becoming only the 21st player in UK basketball history to do so. He is the fourth under John Calipari, joining John Wall, Anthony Davis and Willie Cauley-Stein on that list.
The NCAA recognizes the Sporting News, Associated Press, NABC and United States Basketball Writers Association All-America teams in considering consensus All-Americans; and Ulis was a first-team selection by the Sporting News and AP, and a second-team selection by the NABC and USBWA.
Ulis’ consensus honors puts Kentucky in a tie with North Carolina for the second most all-time at 26 total.
