On Wednesday, Herro was named the U.S. Basketball Writers of America’s Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Week. He earned the award after hauled in the honors after pouring in a career-high 24 points in Kentucky’s 71-58 win at Louisville, the Wildcats’ first true road win of the season. He did so on 10/13 shooting with a career-high four three-pointers.
The honor is the first of the season for any Wildcats player, as well as any player from the SEC this season. It is the first for a Kentucky player since Kevin Knox won it on Jan.
