The awards are still coming in for Tyler Herro following his breakout game vs. Louisville. Today, Herro was named Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers of America.
Herro had a career-high 24 points vs. Louisville off 10-13 from the floor, including a career-high four threes. He also had five boards, two steals, a block, and an assist. Earlier this week, he was named SEC Freshman of the Week, CollegeSportsMadness.com National Player of the Week, and Andy Katz’s National Player of the Week.
This is the first time this season a Kentucky player or any player from the SEC has won Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Week.
