Kentucky’s offense operated at its most efficient all season at Memorial Gymnasium to secure the Wildcats’ first true road victory. Kentucky defeated Vanderbilt 78-66, John Calipari’s eleventh straight victory over the Commodores.
Like his first start at point guard, TyTy Washington came out of the gate hot, scoring nine of UK’s first 13 points. The Wildcats led by 11 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half.
Vanderbilt did not go down without a fight. With Washington and Oscar Tshiebwe on the bench, the Commodores rattled off an 11-0 run over the next five minutes to tie the ballgame.
