LEXINGTON – Kentucky men’s basketball’s 80-53 exhibition win against the reigning NAIA champions Georgetown College on Sunday evening doesn't count toward anything, but it did give a highly anticipated first look at this year's Wildcats.
Guards Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley and Tyrese Maxey stole the show, combining for 44 of Kentucky’s 80 points, and adding 12 assists.
Maxey, an AP Preseason All-America honorable mention and preseason All-SEC second team selection, scored in double figures in his UK debut. The 6-foot-3, 198-pound freshman guard was everywhere against the Tigers.
He finished with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in his first time playing an opponent for the Cats.
