Former Kentucky big man Karl-Anthony Towns and guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were named NBA players of the month recently.
Towns received his NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month award prior to the New York Knicks’ game tonight.
Towns earned the award after averaging 23.2 points, 14.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per game in December.
Gilgeous-Alexander was named NBA Western Conference Player of the Month after averaging a league-best 33.3 points on 56.3% shooting to go along with 5.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. He led the Thunder to a 12-1 record during the month.
