As Kentucky as transitioned to a pro-style offense, the tight end position has gained value in Lexington. The Wildcats will enter the 2023 season with seven scholarship players at that spot with three coming from the class of 2023.
However, that is a position that the coaching staff is still looking at in the class of 2024. Four-star tight end Dylan Mesman (6-5, 205) has emerged as a clear recruiting target for the Wildcats.
In September, Vince Marrow issued a verbal scholarship offer to Mesman. The tight end released his top-10 schools in January with Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Virginia Tech all making the cut.
