The sun is shining. Birds are chirping. Spring is in the air. Of course, that means it’s football time in the Bluegrass.
After taking about a two-month break from official on-field activities, coaches will get to work directly with players through 15 practices over the next five weeks. Spring practice isn’t made for guys like Mike Edwards and Benny Snell. It’s to benefit guys like Jamin Davis and Josh Ali, up-and-coming underclassmen who are pushing for playing time.
Spring is the start of a few position competitions. All pale in comparison to the battle for quarterback. Gunnar Hoak’s third spring will bring more pressure than ever before, thanks to Terry “Touchdown” Wilson.
