For a Monday in June, there’s actually quite a bit happening in the UK Sports world, so of course, we’re starting with soccer.
The US Men’s National Team hasn’t given fans much to be excited about the past few years, but last night, won the CONCACAF Nationals League finals in dramatic fashion, beating Mexico 3-2 in extra time. The win, courtesy of a Christian Pulisic penalty kick, was thrilling enough, but may have been overshadowed by the fans in the stands. Spectators threw bottles and cans on the field, hitting US attacker Giovanni Reyna in the face, and chanted homophobic slurs, prompting a three-minute break in action.
