Kyra Elzy and the Kentucky women’s basketball team will continue their quest of making a conference title run on Friday, taking on the No. 4 seed Georgia Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. ET in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals this afternoon.
The quarterfinals matchup comes after the Wildcats took home a 73-64 victory over the No. 12 seed Florida Gators in the second round Thursday afternoon, with Rhyne Howard (go figure) leading the team with 27 points on 10-15 shooting and 2-4 from three to go with six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
UK needed every bit of Howard’s all-around effort, finding itself in a back-and-forth battle with the Gators down the stretch and needing a 14-4 run in the final three minutes of the game to solidify the victory.
