Kentucky basketball both returned and lost key pieces on Friday, with UK head coach John Calipari confirming sophomore forward Keion Brooks Jr. would be back for his junior year, while freshman forward Isaiah Jackson announced he would be forgoing the remainder of his college eligibility and keeping his name in the draft.
After UK hinted at the possibility of Brooks returning on Thursday by including him in next week’s media opportunities at Kentucky’s upcoming satellite camps, Calipari confirmed the 6-foot-7 forward would be back, adding that 2021-22 is “Keion’s year.”
“You look at Keion, this is Keion’s year,” Calipari said.
