The tradition has a new twist this year. Chris Mack will be coaching in his first rivalry game from the Yum! Center sidelines. The new UofL head coach does not bring the same level of vitriol as Rick Pitino, but you can learn to hate Mojito Mack.
In the young season, Mack’s first team has been tested. The Cards went toe-to-toe with Tennessee, fell in overtime to Marquette and let a win slip away at Assembly Hall. During the difficult stretch they picked up an impressive win over Michigan State and beat Seton Hall in a true road game, the two teams’ only common opponent.
