Remember when the Vanderbilt game glimmered on the horizon like an oasis? An easy win after a slate of SEC juggernauts? Well, not any more. As the Cats have face planted, the ‘Dores have pulled themselves together, getting a rare SEC win over Missouri a few weeks back. This afternoon, they almost upset #10 Florida.
Behind a strong defense and an impressive performance from running back Ralph Webb, Vanderbilt led Florida 7-6 for most of the game until Florida’s Austin Hardin kicked the game-winning field goal. Vandy’s offense is still terrible, putting up only 175 yards, five shy of UK’s total yards on offense against Georgia; however, their defense is impressive, holding Florida to 258 yards, 57 in the second half.
