There are similarities between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Kentucky Wildcats. This especially applies to the quarterback position. Tech’s season can best be described as “Before and After” the Duke game. The Hokies entered the Duke contest with two lackluster wins over Old Dominion (31-17) and Furman (24-17). The Blue Devils then trounced the Hokies by a score of 45-10. What followed was a bounce back, 8-4 season led by new starting quarterback Hendon Hooker.
Kentucky was 2-3 after an embarrassing loss to South Carolina with its starting quarterback (Terry Wilson) lost for the season and backup (Sawyer Smith) banged up as well.
