Since John Calipari became head coach at Kentucky there have been 4 Wildcats win the SEC Player of the Year Award.
Three of those were a freshman. (John Wall, Anthony Davis, Malik Monk)
Just so happens only 4 freshmen have ever won the award. (Chris Jackson, LSU)
So it is definitely a long shot for another freshman to win the award.

Reasons he can win
The first reason is simply because he’s a natural baller. Also, the name on the front of his jersey will help him.
