The recruiting process is heating up for the most sought after quarterbacks from the state of Kentucky in decades.
Owensboro quarterback Gavin Wimsatt concluded his junior season in December with a 17-7 loss to Bowling Green at Kroger Field in the 5A State Championship Game. The Purples’ defense kept Wimsatt contained, accounting for only 279 yards passing and a score.
Now entering his final season of high school football, it’s time for the nation’s No. 2 dual-threat quarterback to begin to narrow his choices. Relatively quiet about his recruitment, Wimsatt has risen through the ranks without attending various camps across the country.
