It’s going to cost Kentucky a pretty penny to revamp its offense this offseason.
Sunday afternoon the University of Kentucky announced the football program is moving forward without offensive coordinator Eddie Gran and quarterbacks coach Darin Hinshaw after five seasons. Even though the statement said the parties “mutually agreed” to go different ways, the assistants aren’t leaving for free.
Last year Gran agreed to a one-year extension through 2023. Kentucky will owe still owe Gran the remaining $2.35 million left on his contract, while Hinshaw is owed $750,000.
Kentucky may not be completely on the hook for the entire $3.
