All of the talk around college football today is about the new media rights mega-deal between the Big Ten Conference and multiple networks, namely CBS, FOX, and NBC. The new deal will shake up the way fans consume their Saturday college football, the most impactful change being the Big Ten’s takeover of the coveted 3:30 afternoon slot on CBS, which will begin in the 2023 season. That spot has been the Southeastern Conference’s marquee game for decades.
While channel-changing is nothing new to the sports landscape, there is one part of the deal that isn’t sitting well with fans of real football–you know, the SEC.
