Friday at the SEC Tournament is already off to a wild start. In the first game of the day, No. 8 seed Texas A&M upset No. 1 seed Auburn 67-62 to advance to the semifinals. The Aggies will face the winner of LSU vs. Arkansas, which tips off momentarily.
Auburn was off from the start. In the first half, the Tigers only had 21 points to A&M’s 37, on 16.2% (6-37) from the floor. KD Johnson was 0-9 from the floor, 0-4 from three. The Aggies extended the lead to 20 with 11:14 left, but Auburn mounted a comeback, cutting it to 62-58 with 37 seconds left thanks to some absurd threes by Wendell Green and Jabari Smith.
