Bobby Petrino is coming back to the SEC. In what is quickly becoming the most entertaining story of the day, ESPN’s Chris Low is reporting that Jimbo Fisher is finalizing a deal to hire Petrino as Texas A&M’s new offensive coordinator.
Petrino, who took the offensive coordinator position at UNLV on Dec. 15, will take over playcalling duties for the Aggies. Fisher has called plays throughout his career, but after a 5-7 season with a struggling offense that prompted over 20 Aggies to enter the transfer portal, something had to change. Apparently, that something comes in the form of Petrino, who most recently served as head coach at FCS Missouri State.
