After heading into the half with a 42-38 lead, the Kentucky Wildcats continued to fight through and extend their lead to double digits at the 12 minute mark in the second half. Keion Brooks Jr. drilled a jumper inside the paint, followed by a steal by Devin Askew and dunk in transition by Brandon Boston Jr. to push UK’s lead to 58-48 at the second media timeout.
At the time, it appeared Kentucky had secured the momentum and was ready to extend the lead in similar fashion to that of UK’s blowout wins at Florida and LSU.
Following the breakthrough moment of the game – or what seemed to be at the time, anyway – the official Kentucky men’s basketball Twitter account posted a video of Boston’s dunk in transition with the caption “We’re having fun.
