Former Kentucky track and field superstar Sydney McLaughlin shattered her own 400m hurdles world record at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, OR.
Previously holding the record with a 400H time of 51.46, McLaughlin managed to top that on the big stage, gliding to a 51.40-second finish to set the new world record.
It’s the third time the former Wildcat has broken the 400m hurdl record, first doing so in the Olympic trials almost exactly one year ago, and then again in the Olympic final.
McLaughlin now holds four of the top five fastest women’s 400m hurdles of all time and six of the top ten.
