Last night the Lott Impact Trophy narrowed their list of semifinalists to eight and Allen made the cut. Kentucky’s pass-rusher is the odds-on favorite to win the award on December 9. He’s already won the Lott Impact Trophy Player of the Week three times, the most since Manti Te’o won the season-long award in 2012.
The other seven semifinalists are:
- Zach Allen, DL, Boston College
- Ben Burr-Kirven, LB, Washington
- Joe Dineen Jr., LB, Kansas
- Chase Hansen, LB, Utah
- Ben Humphreys, LB, Duke
- Jordan Kunaszyk, LB, Cal
- Christian Wilkins, DL, Clemson
Named after Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, the award is given to the player who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.
