After years of torture, embarrassment, and malaise, Mark Stoops did what no other coach has done since 1986- He beat the Florida Gators. And he did it at their place when they were ranked #25 in the country.
With all of the euphoria surrounding his team, Stoops was emotional and was able to reflect on the win and what it meant to the program. He said that it wasn’t fair to continue to lay the streak on players that had nothing to do with its start.
