Former Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie is suffering from health issues again and has been told he needs a kidney transplant “ASAP,” according to a report from SportsDay (see below). The veteran basketball coach retired in 2016 due to health concerns and then returned to coaching in Texas at Ranger Community College. He’s also the school’s athletic director.
This is certainly a situation that is bigger than basketball, and we wish nothing but the best for Gillispie and his family. Here’s to hoping that kidney transplant comes through, and Gillispie returns to the sideline for Ranger.
