Facing a 2nd-and-5 with under a minute remaining and momentum in the passing game, Patrick Towles handed the ball off to Boom Williams for a draw play that was stopped just past the line of scrimmage. Commonwealth Stadium erupted with frustration in the call, knowing Kentucky was out of timeouts and still had a ways to go to inside field goal range. The play was a killer, given its timing and lack of success.
After the game, Mark Stoops was asked about the call and if he realized he was out of timeouts when it was made.
