Heading into the 2020 SEC season opener, there was quite a bit of optimism surrounding the Kentucky Wildcats as they headed down to face the No. 8 Auburn Tigers.
As a 7.5-point underdog, Kentucky and Kavosiey Smoke struck first on a 35-yard rushing touchdown. After their opening score, Auburn immediately responded with a touchdown that lead to a halftime score of 8-7 in favor of the Tigers. Auburn then outscored the Wildcats 21-6 in the second half to end the game.
It wouldn't’ be a college football game without officiating controversy, as the officials blatantly missed a touchdown call at the Auburn 1-yard line that would have favored Kentucky.
