Just a day after taking an L to Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament, Steve Pikiell is leaving Stony Brook to fill the head coaching vacancy at Rutgers.
Even though it was a pretty ugly loss, just getting the Seawolves to their first NCAA Tournament was enough for Rutgers to pursue Pikiell. Pikiell will leave Stony Brook, New York as the school’s winningest head coach after 11 seasons.
I understand a man who wants to leave a tiny mid-major for Big 10 program, but does Rutgers even qualify as a Big 10 team? Good luck Coach, maybe we’ll see you once again as a 13-seed.
