“Hot chicken?” Stephen said when I asked him if he’d tried it before. “What’s hot chicken?”
After hearing about the delicious, cayenne coated fried chicken, Stephen was intrigued.
“I haven’t [had it], but I like spicy food,” he said. “That’s what I’m talking about. The spicier the better.”
Earlier tonight, players from Kentucky and Northwestern were invited to participate in a hot chicken eating contest at the official bowl welcome party at the Wildhorse Saloon downtown. Unfortunately, Kentucky lost that battle, likely in part because Stephen wasn’t QB1 of the five-man squad. Jacob Hyde, Josh Allen, Mike Edwards, Lonnie Johnson, and Calvin Taylor represented the Kentucky and lost, 55-32.
