LEXINGTON, Ky. – Stephen Johnson said he knew he had to come out of the game because he couldn't feel his left shoulder.
In the third quarter, with his Kentucky Wildcats holding on to a 21-20 lead against Tennessee, the quarterback calmly told Wildcats' coach Mark Stoops he'd be back after hurting his shoulder on a 34-yard run.
There was pain, he said, but there was no doubt.
"I'm definitely going to continue playing this game," Johnson said.
This, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior college transfer, is the Kentucky football program embodied.
