NEW YORK — Of the various qualities that make UCLA such a dangerous team — No. 16 in the latest Associated Press poll, but ranked among the top four nationally on the analytics-based websites KenPom.com and BartTorvik.com — it wasn't its efficient offense, nor its stingy defense, that most concerned Kentucky coach John Calipari.
It's not a category that can be quantified. Or discovered through a mathematical formula.
Call it grit. Call it toughness.
Whatever it is, the Bruins have it in spades.
"If you don’t fight," Calipari said Thursday, "you have no chance this game.
