The Wildcats had an injury scare in the first practice of the season this morning when Chris Westry collided with Justin Rigg. The tight end was sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
“It was very unfortunate,” Mark Stoops said at this morning’s press conference. “It looks like Chris will be just fine. Justin took a pretty big shot and we wanted to take him to the hospital.”
Rigg suffered a lacerated kidney in his freshman season. When the sophomore shared stomach complaints following the collision, the UK staff immediately called for an ambulance. Stoops said, “everything checked out fine,” in Rigg’s preliminary tests.
