In a fascinating display of science and technology, SpaceX brought NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley home with a splash landing in the Gulf of Mexico this afternoon.
Bob and Doug landed safely off the coast of Pensacola (Fla.) at 2:48 p.m. ET.
The two astronauts spent two months on board the International Space Station.
Check out the footage of today’s water landing:
This completes the first crewed space launch from American soil since the end of the Space Shuttle program in 2011. It was also the first landing in water by American astronauts since 1975.
