It wasn’t pretty early on but Kentucky pulled away from Tennessee State and improved to 5-1 on the season thanks to a 77-62 victory.
Keldon Johnson led the way with 27 points, 13 of which came from the free throw line.
It was also a big night for Reid Travis who had 13 points and nine rebounds off the bench for Kentucky.
Despite looking woeful in nearly all phases in the first half, Kentucky did show improvement on the defensive side of the ball which was vital in earning the win.
Kentucky has now won five in a row with all their wins coming at Rupp Arena where the Cats are 5-0 this season.
