LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Rupp Arena crowd was convinced Kentucky’s thrilling game against LSU was going to overtime.
LSU forward Kavell Bigby-Williams had just tipped in an missed layup at the buzzer to apparently give the Tigers a 73-71 victory, but an instant replay angle shot from the camera above the basket shown on the arena video board appeared to show a portion of the ball was still in the cylinder when Bigby-Williams touched it, signaling basket interference and negating the shot.
Only that’s not the rule the officials were reviewing at the monitor.
