Auburn freshman star Sharife Cooper may have played his last game as a college basketball player.
Sitting out Auburn’s home matchup against the Florida Gators on Tuesday with an injured ankle, ESPN commentator Jimmy Dykes hinted that the standout freshman may not play in the team’s final two regular season games, effectively ending his season and very likely his time in college.
“I’ll be surprised if he comes back this year,” Dykes said during the broadcast.
Cooper, who missed his first 11 games at Auburn as the NCAA investigated his eligibility, has only played in 12 games as a freshman.
