Based on the latest developments and continued spread of the Coronavirus, the Southeastern Conference today announced the suspension of regular season competition for teams in all sports on SEC campuses, as well SEC championship events, until March 30.
That includes spring sports such as baseball, softball, and rifle. It comes right after the SEC Basketball Tournament was canceled.
This does not apply to teams and individuals in NCAA competition, at this time.
The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team was set to begin SEC play this weekend against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The softball team was going to open league play against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
