An empty Rupp Arena served as the backdrop for UK’s Pro Day on Sunday night as Nike basketball shoes squeaked on the hardwood, providing the perfect soundtrack for chasing dreams during the annual UK basketball “job fair.”
As expected, Hamidou Diallo and Kevin Knox, both projected as first-round NBA picks, showed tremendous athleticism in front of a live TV audience on the SEC Network. The only real surprise of the night was that UK could not scrimmage 5-on-5 as only nine players were standing at the end of a high intensity workout. Jarred Vanderbilt (foot) and Jemarl Baker (knee) did not participate due to injury and others battled cramping issues during the two-hour practice.
