The Arizona and LSU coaches were subpoenaed by Christian Dawkins’ attorney in February, but U.S. District Court Judge Edgardo Ramos ruled this morning that because Dawkins and his fellow defendant Merl Code did not bribe Miller or Wade specifically, their testimony is irrelevant (they did bribe Arizona assistant coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson, Oklahoma State’s Lamont Evans, and USC’s Tony Bland). Still, Dawkins’ attorney Steven Haney dangled the bait out there for the rest of us.
“The evidence establishes very clearly that Sean Miller is paying players at Arizona,” Haney said during Friday morning’s hearing.
When asked by reporters following the hearing about that statement, Haney said, “You’ll have to be here to hear the evidence.
