First-year Kentucky point guard Sahvir Wheeler is living up to the hype of his All-SEC preseason selection. The former Georgia Bulldog currently ranks first in the Southeastern Conference and third nationally with 6.9 assists per game for the Wildcats, which has him on pace to rewrite the all-time record book at Kentucky.
For his outstanding play to date, Wheeler was named to the Bob Cousy Award Top 10 on Monday. The list names the 10 best point guards in college basketball as finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, given to the best point guard at the end of the season.
